Spender and saver: different money styles

When one spends and the other saves — and both think they’re right.

Case. One partner loves to spend “here and now”, the other saves for the future. Every purchase sparks conflict.

Model. Two different configs of one system, not a “right” and a “wrong” one. The conflict is a settings mismatch, not a human defect.

What helped. A shared budget with zones of freedom: part for a common goal, part for each person’s spending with no reporting.

Lesson. Money is a team task, not a field to prove who’s right.
