“Between mom and wife”: a loyalty conflict

When one partner sides with their parents again and again.

Case. In conflicts with relatives, one partner systematically sides with their parents against the spouse.

Model. Priorities are set wrong: an external node (parents) gets a higher priority than the core (the couple).

What helped. They reassembled priorities: on questions of their own family the spouse comes first; respect for parents is within that priority.

Lesson. Respecting parents and putting the couple first are compatible.
