When parents’ financial help comes with a vote.
Case. One partner’s parents fund the couple and on that basis intervene in decisions.
Model. External funding has gained admin rights. As long as money is tied to control, the couple has no autonomy.
What helped. They stated it plainly: help is a gift, not a stake in management. Where impossible, they deliberately reduced the dependence.
Lesson. A family’s autonomy is worth more than a convenient subsidy.
