Empty nest

When the kids grew up and no couple was left beneath the shared project.

The problem

The children moved out, and the partners found they long lived for the kids, not for each other.

How we see it

For years the system ran on one shared process; when it ended, the absence of a “couple” loop was exposed.

What to do
  1. Reassemble shared interests and meanings as a two.
  2. Treat the stage as a chance, not a void.
  3. Restore rituals of closeness deferred “for later”.
  4. Give yourselves time to get to know each other again.
✗ Чего НЕ делать
  • Don’t fill the void with new “projects” instead of the relationship.
  • Don’t write distance off to “age” and give up.
  • Don’t make the kids a permanent excuse to neglect the couple.

Support: a couple must exist beyond the parenting project. See High availability.

This is not therapy or legal advice. In an acute crisis see help contacts. Submit a case.
